Any one how to setup setup Time Fiber Home Internet on mikrotik router? Also check out this post, fellow forummer did a test on an RB951G.
Subject line summarizes the question. I can't find reliable information online (Google-fu failing me), but the scenario is such:
I would like to use a Mikrotik RB951G-2HND router to act as the whole network forward facing VPN client to connect to a VPN service provider (Private Internet Access VPN service or others). I am looking at this to get around geo-loc issues I run into as well as trying to add an extra layer of security. I would like this to run as securely as possible with minimal downtime and no necessary intervention (will set these up for other people who are not technically inclined). Can this device act as a VPN client in this manner and up to what reliable type/strength of VPN connection (PPTP/IPSEC/L2TP/OpenVPN)? Follow on question: Can this run dual outgoing networks allowing say 1 specified connection to route around the VPN tunnel while all others are forced to use the outgoing VPN tunnel? I ask this because there are supposedly a few routers running DD-WRT/Tomato which can accomplish this additional feat though they cost more and may have less stability than what I have heard the Mikrotik can provide.
Suggestions appreciated!
